From Receivables to Liquidity: Improving Cash Visibility and Working Capital

Accounts receivable may not always sit within treasury, but the speed, predictability, and visibility of incoming cash directly affect liquidity planning, forecasting, and working capital performance. This session will explore how treasury and finance teams can work across functional boundaries to improve the processes that turn receivables into usable cash. Through practitioner experiences and real-world examples, speakers will examine opportunities to improve payment predictability, cash application, exception management, and collaboration between treasury, AR, and other finance functions. The discussion will focus on measurable business outcomes—including improved cash visibility, forecast accuracy, DSO, cash conversion, and operational efficiency—and the practical process changes that can drive them. Attendees will also consider where automation, analytics, and AI can support these efforts without losing sight of controls, implementation realities, and the underlying business objectives.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify how AR processes and performance affect treasury's cash visibility, liquidity forecasting, and working capital decisions.

  2. Evaluate practical opportunities to improve payment predictability, cash application, exception management, and cross-functional workflows.

  3. Use metrics such as DSO, forecast accuracy, cash conversion, and exception rates to measure the impact of process improvements.

  4. Assess where automation, analytics, and AI can improve finance workflows while maintaining appropriate controls and human oversight.
